The board of directors of the Ozark Quarter Horse Association will follow the point system described below for determining the year-end award winners.

Only points earned in Ozark Quarter Horse Association sanctioned shows will count toward the Ozark Quarter Horse Association year-end awards.

Membership must be paid prior to the first Ozark show of the year to begin counting points. Late memberships will be accepted, however, only points earned after the date received (or postmarked) will be counted.

Horse owners & all exhibitors must be an Ozark Quarter Horse Association member to qualify for year-end awards.

Novice Youth, Youth, Novice Amateur, Amateur, Select & Open horses must show to at least six (6) judges and have accumulated at least ten (10) Ozark Quarter Horse Association points per class during the current show season, and must be a paid current member of OzQHA to be eligible for a year end award.

Lead line exhibitors (6 years of age & under) must be a paid current member of OzQHA and must show in at least six (6) OzQHA shows to qualify for a year-end award. They will win prizes out of the “treasure box” after each class.

Walk-Trot/Small Fry exhibitors (10 years & under) must show in half of all Ozark approved shows for the year to be eligible for year-end awards. Walk-Trot/Small Fry exhibitors will be eligible for only one (1) year-end award. Small Fry exhibitors can show in one (1) of the three (3) events, or a combo of, to qualify for a year end award.  They will all be declared a year- end champion. If an exhibitor chooses to enter Walk-Trot/Small Fry classes, they may only enter in that category, not in the novice youth or regular youth classes for the day. Walk-Trot/Small Fry exhibitors can show in any youth or open halter class.

High Point awards will be given to Novice Youth, Youth, Novice Amateur, Amateur and Select Members that have accumulated the most points during the year and have ten (10) or more Ozark points.

The winner of each class shall be declared the Ozark Quarter Horse Association champion for that class. The runner-up will be declared the reserve champion for that class.

In the event of a tie, the exhibitor that showed in the most number of shows will be declared the winner.  If there is still a tie, then the exhibitor that has placed the highest in these shows will be awarded the winner.
